Carers support service

be well

“Before I started working with Swanswell, my life was stressful, lonely and a never-ending battle. Jeni, my Swanswell worker, helped change all that. My life is now fuller and happier and it’s all because of Swanswell.”

We’ll offer you support when you're helping family and friends with alcohol or drug problems.

What we do

For every person with an alcohol or drug problem there’s usually at least one carer. We understand caring for someone can be very isolating and difficult.

We’ll work with you and help you find practical ways of overcoming difficulties. We’ll help you to access:

  • group discussion sessions
  • individual therapeutic interventions
  • qualification opportunities
  • training and information
  • advice and guidance from trained professionals

Who we work with

We can work with you if you’re a resident of Barnsley, over the age of 18 and care for a person with an alcohol or drug problem.

If you don’t live in Barnsley please read our drug and alcohol FAQ for further help and support.
