Local authorities

Swanswell understands the pressures that local authorities are under and the importance of working flexibly in partnership. Our services seek to work with local authorities to achieve their targets and fulfil the demands of their local area agreements. We strive to stay abreast of the legal requirements placed upon local authorities and to find innovative ways of meeting the cross-cutting demands of each local area agreement in the areas of services for drug and alcohol misuse and supporting people with housing-related services.

We work with local authorities in a variety of ways:

  • partnering with a number of Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (DAATs)
  • providing supporting people services as part of the national Supporting People initiative
  • developing innovative services such as our unique alcohol and domestic violence (DV) project
