Swanswell extends opening hours for alcohol helpline
25 January 2011
A confidential telephone service helping people with alcohol misuse problems in Coventry has extended its opening hours due to increased demand.
It’s offered by Swanswell, a national charity which wants to achieve a society free from problem alcohol and drug use, to anyone worried about their alcohol consumption and is now available from 8am to 8pm on Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays).
During this time, specialist alcohol workers are available to give information and advice about alcohol over the phone, by calling 024 76 226619.
The service is in addition to the regular drop in sessions running Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 12pm and 1pm to 3pm at Swanswell House, Norton Street, Coventry.
Caroline Gadsby, Operations Manager for Swanswell in Coventry, said: ‘Our telephone service is proving to be very successful so we’ve extended the opening hours to make it even easier for people to speak to us when they need to.
‘Most importantly, each call will be treated in the strictest of confidence and is the first step to helping people change and be happy.’
