Supporting people
At Swanswell we can offer you practical support, which helps you to maintain your accommodation and become more independent.
What we do
Our staff can work with you individually in your own home and in your local community.
We help you find practical ways of overcoming your difficulties by offering support, advice and information. This can include helping you to:
- apply for and get the right benefits
- budget your money and pay bills
- keep your house safe and in good repair
- attend appointments
- get into voluntary or paid work
- develop leisure interests
Swanswell provides these services as part of the national Supporting People programme.

Who we work with
We can work with you if you are over the age of 18 years and:
- living in Birmingham and have problems with drug use
- living in Coventry and have problems with drug and/or alcohol use
- or living in Warwickshire and have problems with alcohol use
… and this is putting your ability to retain your home at risk.
You can be in rented accommodation (local authority, private, housing association) or can be an owner occupier. We can work with you for up to two years.
Where to find us
We have offices in Warwickshire, Coventry and Birmingham, but our staff also work with people in their own homes and communities. We are available Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm.
How to contact supporting people
You can ask for the services yourself, or you can ask someone else to do so on your behalf (e.g. friends and family, social worker, health worker, GP, nurse, probation officer, voluntary organisation, alcohol or drug services staff etc).
